A vehicle may be genuinely restricted when the required key, authorization, security data or programming procedure is unavailable outside the manufacturer network. Certain luxury and specialty vehicles are more likely to have those limits.
Why the exact VIN matters
The same model year can use different key parts, frequencies, button layouts, ignition systems and security platforms. The VIN, whether any key remains and the current condition of the vehicle determine the real options.
Dealership transport is still available when necessary
When the vehicle is truly restricted, towing or transportation to the appropriate dealership can still be coordinated instead of promising an unsupported service.
Call before buying an online key
Look-alike keys can use the wrong frequency, board, chip or smart-key generation. Confirm the exact part before spending money on a customer-supplied key.
